What it is

Codd is a PostgreSQL client built for the GNOME desktop with GTK and libadwaita. It saves your connections, with passwords stored in the keyring, and lets you browse tables and views, inspect their columns, indexes and constraints, and write SQL with highlighting and schema-aware completion. You can page through and edit table rows, staging changes and committing them together in one transaction.

It’s named after Edgar F. Codd, who introduced the relational model behind SQL databases.

Why it’s here

  • Native and light. A GNOME app, not a browser in a window.
  • Focused on PostgreSQL. The everyday jobs, done simply.

On CoreDesktop

Codd is installed from Flathub. Open it from the app menu. update keeps it current with the rest of the Flatpaks.
