What it is

GNOME Tweaks is a settings app for the options GNOME’s own Settings leaves out. It sets interface and monospace fonts and their scaling, adds minimize and maximize buttons to title bars, chooses the theme for older apps, the cursor and icons, and changes keyboard and mouse behavior, such as what Caps Lock does.

Why it’s here

  • Fonts and scaling. Pick a different font or make text slightly larger without changing the whole display scale.
  • Title bar buttons. Bring back minimize and maximize if you miss them.
  • Keyboard options. Turn Caps Lock into Ctrl or Escape, or change the key that opens the overview.

On CoreDesktop

GNOME Tweaks is installed from pacman with nothing extra configured. Open it from the app menu as Tweaks, or run gnome-tweaks. update keeps it current with the rest of the Arch packages.
