What it is

hyperfine times commands. It runs each one many times, after warm-up runs, and reports the mean, spread and range, so you can tell whether one version of a script or a build setting is really faster than another. It can export results as Markdown, JSON or CSV.

Why it’s here

  • Real numbers. Repeated runs and statistics instead of a single time.
  • Side-by-side comparisons. Give it several commands and it says which is fastest, and by how much.

On CoreDesktop

hyperfine is installed from pacman. update keeps it current with the rest of the pacman packages.
