What it is

Impression makes bootable drives. Choose an ISO or other disk image, choose a USB drive, and it writes the image so the drive can start a computer, for example to install Linux or Windows. It can also download some popular Linux distributions for you.

Why it’s here

  • Simple. No options to puzzle over, just the image and the drive.
  • Works for any system. Linux distributions and Windows installers alike.
  • Handy for Arch. Make a USB stick with the Arch ISO, which is what you’d boot to roll back a snapshot.

On CoreDesktop

Impression is installed from Flathub. Open it from the app menu. The Flatpak update keeps it current.
