What it is
mtr shows the path your traffic takes to another host and keeps measuring it: for each router along the way it shows packet loss and response times, updated continuously. It’s the quickest way to see where a slow or dropping connection goes wrong.

Why it’s here
- Find the bad hop. See whether a problem is your Wi-Fi, your ISP or further away.
- Live view. Statistics build up over time instead of a single snapshot.

mtr is installed from pacman. Type mtr in a terminal. update keeps it current along with the rest of the pacman packages.
