What it is

Postman is an app for working with web APIs. You build an HTTP request, with its method, headers, body and authentication, send it and inspect the response. Requests are saved in collections you can share with a team, and environments switch values such as server addresses and keys between development and production.

It can also run test scripts against responses, and mock or document an API.

Why it’s here

  • APIs without code. Try an endpoint before writing a line of client code.
  • Saved and shared. Collections keep every request a project needs in one place.
  • A team standard. Many APIs publish Postman collections to get started with.

On CoreDesktop

Postman is installed from Flathub. Open it from the app menu and sign in with a Postman account. update keeps it current with the rest of the Flatpaks.
