What it is
qBittorrent is an open-source client for BitTorrent, the peer-to-peer protocol used to share large files such as Linux ISOs. It downloads from torrent files and magnet links, lets you pick files within a torrent and limit bandwidth, and has a built-in torrent search and RSS feed downloader. A web interface lets you control it from another device.
Why it’s here
- Clean and ad-free. It does what uTorrent did without the ads or bundled extras.
- Works with Sonarr. Sonarr can send downloads to qBittorrent and pick them up when they finish.
On CoreDesktop
CoreDesktop installs qBittorrent as a Flatpak from Flathub. Open it from the app grid, or open a magnet link or .torrent file with it. update keeps it current along with your other Flatpaks.
