What it is

Sniffnet is a desktop app for watching network traffic. Pick a network adapter and it shows live charts of data in and out, the hosts and countries your computer is connecting to, and the apps and protocols involved. You can filter connections, set notifications for unusual activity and export a capture for analysis elsewhere.

Why it’s here

  • Know what’s connecting. Spot unexpected traffic from an app or device.
  • Readable. A friendlier view than packet-level tools like Wireshark.

On CoreDesktop

Sniffnet is installed from pacman, which gives it the network capture permissions it needs, so it runs without sudo. Open it from the app grid or type sniffnet. update keeps it current along with the rest of the pacman packages.
