What it is

terrahour is a world clock for the terminal. It shows a map of the world with day and night on it and, for every city you add, its local time and working hours. A row at the bottom shows when everyone is at their desk at once, which makes it a quick way to find a meeting time across time zones. It also warns you about upcoming daylight saving changes.

Why it’s here

  • Meetings across time zones. See overlapping working hours at a glance.
  • Always at hand. It runs in any terminal, without opening a website.

On CoreDesktop

terrahour is a Python app, installed with pipx so it gets its own environment. Type terrahour, then press a to add a city and ? to see every key. update upgrades it with the other pipx apps, and rebuilds it if an Arch Python upgrade would otherwise break it.
