What it is
Yazi is a file manager that runs in the terminal. It shows your directories in columns, previews files as you move over them (including images in terminals that support it), and lets you copy, move, rename and open files from the keyboard. It loads directories in the background, so it stays responsive in large folders.
Why it’s here
- Quick browsing. Move through folders and preview files without leaving the terminal.
- Keyboard-driven. Vim-style keys for navigating and acting on files.
- Works over SSH. A file manager on remote machines with no desktop.
On CoreDesktop
Yazi is installed from pacman with no extra setup. Type yazi in a terminal. update keeps it current along with the rest of the pacman packages.
