Jump to directories you use often by typing part of their name.

What it is

zoxide is a smarter cd. It remembers the directories you visit and ranks them by how often and how recently you use them, so you can jump to one by typing a fragment of its path.

z webcore # cd to the directory you use most that matches "webcore"

Why it’s here

  • Fewer keystrokes. No more typing long paths to projects you open every day.
  • Learns as you go. There’s nothing to set up: it ranks directories from your history.

On CoreDesktop

zoxide is installed from pacman and turned on for Bash by CoreDesktop’s shell setup, which gives you the z command. zi does the same with an interactive fzf list. update keeps zoxide current with the pacman packages.
